Refund Policy
Effective date: 3 September 2026 Last updated: 1 October 2026
This Refund Policy applies to every purchase made through Animatic AI (the Service), including subscriptions, Credit top-ups, Starter Packs, HD Exports and the Entry Plan. Animatic AI is an unincorporated business operating from the United Kingdom (Animatic, we, us, our).
This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.
1. Our general position: all sales are final
1.1. Animatic is a digital service that is made available to you, and delivers what you buy, immediately. All purchases are final and we do not provide refunds, credits or exchanges, in full or in part, except where the law that applies to you requires us to.
1.2. Where the law of the country in which you live gives you a right to cancel or to a refund that cannot be excluded, you keep that right, but only to the extent the law requires. Sections 2 and 3 explain how that right is affected by the immediate supply of the Service.
1.3. We do not provide refunds for:
- a change of mind, or because you no longer want or use the Service;
- unused time on a subscription, or unused Credits, when you cancel, downgrade or stop using the Service;
- forgetting to cancel before a renewal;
- dissatisfaction with the creative result of a generation that completed and operated substantially as described;
- restrictions, suspension or termination resulting from your breach of the Terms; or
- Credits, features or offers you received free of charge or promotionally.
1.4. Any refund we choose to give outside our legal obligations is a one-off goodwill gesture at our sole discretion. It does not create an obligation to give a refund in any other case.
2. Immediate supply and the right to cancel
2.1. Your request for immediate supply. When you buy a subscription, Credits, a Starter Pack, an HD Export or the Entry Plan, you ask us to make it available straight away. Before you pay, and again where relevant before an HD Export begins, we ask you to confirm that request and to acknowledge that you will lose any right to cancel once supply begins or, for a service, once it has been fully performed. By completing the purchase or starting the export you give that consent and acknowledgement, and we keep a record of it.
2.2. Consequence. Because Credits, packs and exports are digital content supplied to your account the moment payment is confirmed, you agree that any statutory right to cancel and to receive a refund is waived when supply begins, to the fullest extent the law that applies to you permits. Where you still have a right that cannot be waived, Sections 2.3 to 2.6 apply.
2.3. UK consumers — digital content. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the 14-day cancellation period for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium ends once supply begins, provided you expressly consented to supply during the cancellation period and acknowledged that you would lose the right to cancel. We treat Credit top-ups, the Credits in a Starter Pack, the Entry Plan and HD Exports as digital content supplied on that basis.
2.4. UK consumers — subscriptions. A subscription is a service. If you are a UK consumer and cancel a new subscription within 14 days of entering into it, having asked for it to start straight away, we will deduct an amount proportionate to what was supplied before you told us you were cancelling. Because each subscription's full monthly allowance of Credits and its paid features are supplied on day one, that amount includes the value of the Credits supplied, whether or not they have been used, and the paid features made available. Where the amount supplied equals or exceeds the price paid, no refund is due. The right to cancel ends once the service has been fully performed.
2.5. Consumers elsewhere. If you live outside the UK and mandatory local law gives you a right to cancel or a refund, the same principles apply: your request for immediate supply and acknowledgement under Section 2.1 apply to the fullest extent your local law allows, and any refund is limited to what that law strictly requires after deducting the value of what was supplied.
2.6. How to exercise a right to cancel. Send a clear statement to contact@animatic.ai within the applicable period. You may use the model form in Section 9, but you do not have to. We will acknowledge your request by email and tell you whether a refund is due and how it was calculated.
2.7. These rights concern the initial contract. Renewals are not new contracts for the purpose of a cancellation period unless the law in force at the time says otherwise.
3. Subscription plans
3.1. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. The price, billing period, included Credits and renewal terms are shown before purchase.
3.2. Annual plans are charged once for the whole year, but the Credits they include are dispensed monthly rather than as a single yearly balance. Each monthly allowance is added to your account at the start of the corresponding month of the subscription year, as set out in Section 5.4 of the Terms of Service. Paying annually does not make a full year of Credits available up front.
3.3. You can cancel at any time through your account billing settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the billing period already paid for, so you keep access until then. Cancelling does not produce a refund for the current period, for the remainder of an annual term, or for unused Credits, except where Section 2 or Section 10.3 of the Terms requires one.
3.4. Upgrades may take effect immediately and may result in a prorated charge shown at checkout. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal. Any proration credit from a plan change is applied to your Animatic account, not paid out in cash.
4. Animatic Credits
4.1. Credits are a virtual unit used to access generation and related features. They are a limited licence to use the Service, not currency, property, a deposit or stored money. They have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred between accounts or exchanged for cash.
4.2. Subscription-included Credits relate to the monthly period in which they are issued and do not roll over unless the plan expressly says otherwise. Monthly allowances for months of an annual term that have not yet started are not issued in advance and are not issued at all if the subscription ends first.
4.3. Purchased Credits (top-ups and the Credits in a Starter Pack) do not expire while your account remains active and in good standing unless a different expiry was disclosed before purchase. They are supplied to your account immediately and are non-refundable once supplied, as explained in Section 2.
4.4. Free and promotional Credits, including the Free-plan allowance, have no monetary value, are never refundable or exchangeable, and may be limited, withdrawn or expired as described in Section 5 of the Terms.
4.5. Credits may be forfeited where we restrict or terminate an account for a breach of the Terms, fraud or abuse. If we discontinue the Service or terminate your account without fault on your part, Section 10.3 of the Terms applies.
5. Starter Packs and HD Exports
5.1. A Starter Pack is a one-off purchase that adds the number of purchased Credits stated at checkout (currently 300) to your account and includes one HD Export. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
5.2. An HD Export entitles you to export one video from one project at 1080p without a watermark, with the commercial-use rights described in Section 4 of the Terms for that video. It does not expire while your account remains active, and it stays on your account if you change, upgrade, downgrade or cancel a plan.
5.3. An HD Export is used when you start the export and confirm the prompt on the Export screen asking us to deliver the export immediately. Once an HD Export has been used it cannot be refunded, reissued or transferred, including if you later edit the project, delete the file or would prefer a different result. Re-exporting the same video, or exporting a different video, needs another HD Export or a plan that includes 1080p exports.
5.4. If a refund of a Starter Pack or HD Export is legally required, or we choose to give one as a goodwill gesture, the HD Export is withdrawn if it has not been used, and the purchased Credits in the pack are removed from your account. Where some of those Credits have already been used, or the HD Export has been used, the value of what was used is deducted from any refund, and a used HD Export is valued at the full pack price less the value of any unused Credits.
6. Entry Plan and Free-plan Credits
6.1. The Free plan's Credit allowance is offered at our discretion and is subject to regional availability, eligibility, verification and fraud checks, as described in Section 5 of the Terms.
6.2. Where we do not offer free Credits to you, whether because of where you are, the outcome of our checks, or because we have withdrawn free Credits generally, we may instead offer the Entry Plan: a one-off purchase (currently $2.99) that gives you the Credit allowance and Free-plan features shown at checkout. It is not a subscription and does not renew. The Entry Plan is digital content supplied immediately on purchase and is non-refundable once supplied, as explained in Section 2.
7. Failed, faulty or misdescribed generations
7.1. Our generation pipeline is intended not to charge Credits when a generation fails before producing an Output, including because of a provider error, timeout or content-policy rejection. Technical errors can occur.
7.2. If Credits were deducted without an Output being delivered, contact contact@animatic.ai within 30 days with your account or project details and the approximate time of the issue. If we confirm an incorrect deduction, our remedy is to restore the affected Credits to your account. We do not pay cash in place of restoring Credits.
7.3. We do not provide refunds or Credit restorations because you would have preferred a different creative result, provided the generation completed and the feature operated substantially as described. AI Output is variable, and a successful generation may contain creative differences or ordinary visual artifacts.
7.4. If you are a consumer and the Service or digital content is faulty or materially misdescribed, you have the statutory remedies described in Section 11 of the Terms. Our first remedy is to repair or re-run the affected generation or restore the Credits used; a price reduction or refund applies only where the law requires one.
8. How refunds are paid and payment disputes
8.1. Where a refund is due, it is made to the original payment method, in the currency of the original payment, for no more than the amount you actually paid. We are not responsible for exchange-rate differences or fees charged by your bank or card issuer.
8.2. Where a refund is required by consumer cancellation law, we will initiate it without undue delay and within 14 days of being told of the cancellation. Your bank may take additional time to show it.
8.3. Chargebacks. Please contact contact@animatic.ai before disputing a payment with your bank; most issues can be resolved quickly. If you open a chargeback or payment dispute, we may suspend the account and remove the Credits, packs and features associated with the disputed payment while it is investigated. If the dispute is decided in your favour, the associated Credits, packs and features are permanently removed. If a dispute is opened in bad faith for a purchase that was supplied as described, we may terminate the account and recover the amount owed and any reasonable dispute fees. This does not prevent you from exercising a legal right.

10. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or mandatory consumer law in the country in which you live. Where a provision of this Policy would be unenforceable against you, it applies only to the extent the law permits, and the rest of the Policy continues to apply.
