Why it's built this way
A narrated video needs a picture for every beat of the narration. The longer the video, the harder it is to find or make all of them and keep them looking like one film.
Stock footage rarely fits the exact line, and tools that generate a few seconds of video at a time leave you with many separate clips to line up. Animatic treats the whole narration as one project: it plans the scenes first, generates a visual for each one in a single Visual Style, and keeps every scene editable.
The first pass is automatic. After that you can change the script, the scene plan, the pace, any single scene, and the motion and timing in the timeline.
